I would definitely recommend Blinds Galore and More. The experience working with this company was very quick, easy and seamless. The quality of the Plantation Shutters is very good and made in Sarasota, FL. The installers were the best! They were very professional and meticulous. I asked them if they would wear booties over their shoes because I had a very light rug that had just been installed, they were happy to oblige.I could not be happier!

If you come to this web site looking for shutters and blinds you have come to the right place. First let me say that all the great reviews you read hear is no "bull". If you are looking for a company that prides itself on honesty, integrity, professionalism, attention to details and superior product's backed by expert installations I highly recommend Blinds Galore and More. Having owned a service related business for over 30 years I speak with some authority. Kathy and Rick will go above and beyond your expectations from the start of the process to the final installation. Coupled with expert installers you have a winner here. They will show up when they when they say they will and will not take you for granted. I had my entire house outfitted with plantation shutters and and a slider fitted with a Hunter Douglas blind and could not be happier with the quality products installed. Extremely satisfied with our purchase! We were in the market for Plantation Shutters. They came to our house within 24 hours, took the measurements, gave us the quote on the spot (very fair pricing) and they were installed within 1 week! They even installed temporary window coverings for free so that we weren't living in a "fish bowl" while waiting for our new shutters. The shutters are beautiful and very high quality! Made in the USA of the finest quality materials. Great craftsmanship and dust free! If you're in the market for any type of window covering, I highly suggest skipping the big box stores and letting this family owned and operated business meet your needs! Thanks Kathy and Rick! Just a quick review to say how happy I was with this Company. Kathy and Rich are great peopleto work with. Kathy is sharp, and definitely knows her stuff, and a Rich is Precise and does quality work. We met with Kathy and Rick last week to discuss plantation shutters. We made the appointment for installation and they were installed today on all windows! They make our house look so beautiful. A very smooth job was done by Rick and his assistant. Rick showed us how to properly open and close them and gave us other details about them. They will be so easy to maintain!Very pleased. I did my homework...I questioned a lot of companies and researched a lot of products. So many are made in China, made of cheap plastic or hollow. Some companies advertise major brands and then come out with inferior substitutes. I asked all the right questions and, in the end, Blinds Galore was the best product and the price was extremely fair. Installation was flawless and I'm confident that I made a great decision. Thanks Kathy for all your help!! I know that I was a bit of a pest with all my questions but you had all the right answers. Buying a true "Made in America" product from a family run business is the best. Oh, and by the way...they installed in 10 days!!

We had our plantation shutters installed today. They are beautiful and are a gorgeous upgrade to every room. The measurements were perfect and installation went very smoothly. The shutters are solid construction yet easy to move. We love that they are made locally and repel dust! Will definitely call them for our next project. Highly recommend!

We had Blinds Galore & More install plantation shutters in our 90’s home. Both Kathy and Rick are so personable, friendly and helpful. The whole process was seamless from start to finish. They definitely know their products and were very helpful with recommendations. During installation, Rick and his helper were efficient, non-intrusive (we had other work going on at the same time) and quick. After reading ALL the reviews online, it was overwhelmingly apparent that Blinds Galore was the winner, hands down. And from my first conversation on the phone with Kathy, I understood why. It is a DELIGHT when you have the opportunity to do business with someone who is not only EXCELLENT at what they do, but PASSIONATE about going above and beyond in service to their customers! We are as thrilled with Kathy & Rick as we are with our Plantation Shutters and Vertiglides meticulously installed today. We had read multiple company online reviews before making our free estimate appointments with 3 different businesses. From our initial call we knew Kathy could not and would not be out done. We more or less just got out of the way as Kathy & Rick walked through our home measuring and deciding what would function best, and also enhance what we wanted, and what fit best with our home decor and lifestyle. Not only did we have an estimate in hand before they walked out the door, but Kathy & Rick also shared a plethora of helpful information about the community we had just moved into. We were confident in Kathy's knowledge of window treatments, the product's construction, pricing, and the installation process. When I say meticulously installed I mean, Rick & assistant Charlotte, laid down padding to protect our floor, vacuumed all drill fragments, wiped off each panel on each shutter, used a flashlight to check for any flaws....., and completely finished up in an amazingly brief time! We have nothing but rave reviews for Blinds Galore And More, Kathy & Rick (& Charlotte)!

Impossible is not in Kathy’s vocabulary. My husband and I were convinced we’d have to settle with plain window coverings (or nothing at all) in our mid century modern home that has a combination of jalousie windows and hurricane doors that are difficult to deal with. Within minutes of meeting Kathy and Rick I knew our worries were over. Kathy listened to our wishes and came up with a custom design using shutters and blinds that look beautiful in our home. Our order was placed, delivered and installed quickly and Kathy has been incredible about following up making sure everything is just right. I am so pleased with my experience and would recommend Kathy, Rick and their team of experts to anyone!

We recently bought a new home. I was referred to Kathy at Blinds Galore and More by my friend who was very happy with her plantation shutters and vertiglide blinds. Kathy was very helpful by answering my questions about plantation shutters, so I scheduled a meeting. Her and Rick came to our home after i needed to cancel our first appointment at the last minute due to a medical issue. They brought their samples and described the quality in the products she sold. We were very happy and placed an order. Kathy suggested we cover our windows as we were leaving town and placed paper covers up until our shutters arrived. They hung our shutters when we were out of town, and knowing how excited we were to see them, sent us many pictures as they were installed. Two products that arrived were not up to Kathy's standards, so she promptly returned them and had replacements installed when we were back home. Rick and his helper were here to install the rest. They installed them, and were quick to make sure everything was perfect! They then made sure to clean up anything left behind in the install. We are extremely happy with the quality and all of Kathy's service. I would highly recommend her to anyone considering shutters. Oh wait, I already did refer them to friends who have also ordered from Kathy. She is great!

8/19/19 We rearranged our main living area and as a result the sun glared on the center of the TV when setting in my man chairs. I immediately called Kathy to help resolve my dilemma and two days later she was there ordering a new blind with sun blocking feature. The blind arrive one week later and installed by Claudio who is an amazing professional who does great work. With Kathy and Claudio on your team you have the best of best. Thanks for the good fast installation.We just installed impact windows in our home to be safe with the hurricanes in Florida. We had Hunter Douglas window coverings and loved the look, quality and great customer service. When we called Kathy at Blinds Galore and More and told her what we wanted to do she came out the next day and showed us several of the Hunter Douglas products. We needed blinds that would block the sun from coming through and interfering with our TV watching. She had the perfect solution for us. Kathy showed us the newest product, Silhouette Duolite, which has two shades in one, providing all the benefits of a traditional Silhouette shading but with an independently operated room-darkening roller shade nestled behind it. The shades were perfect. They were just what we needed. We motorized all the windows in our living room so now we can select any or all windows to open, close and even block out the sun. Kathy helped with the color and recommended an accent wall color to highlight the blinds and the master doorway. Kathy is amazing. Thank you

We had a great experience with Blinds Galore and More located in the North Port area. Kathy and Rick Brown came to our house on the day we called to give us an estimate on Vertiglide blinds. The blinds arrived exactly on the date promised, Rick and Charlotte did a great job on the install. From estimate through installation, all was very professionally done. I am so incredibly happy with Kathy and Rick!! I called and they were able to come out the same day. Kathy was very honest about what would work best with my windows/doors and since I have pets, made recommendations according to them. Everything took a week to get installed but there was a holiday and likely would have been even sooner! I was not expecting such quick service. Rick is so sweet, I work night shift and had my mother over so he could install the shutters and have someone awake. He kept my room for last and has zero issue with my schedule. I found an imperfection and gave them a call. The same night, I received a message saying they would be there to repair it almost next day. I would recommend them to everyone for many reasons and I’m so very thankful for everything they did!!

I just had Blinds Galore & More install a Plantation Shudder in my master bathroom. It is an unusual size window and I contacted 3 other companies who all said it could not be made. I saw an advertisement for Blinds Galore and More and decided to try one last time. I spoke with Kathy who was knowledgeable and professional and said she could do it. She arranged for Rick her husband to come over to my home that afternoon and measure more accurately the window and showed me various options. I had a great experience with Blinds Galore and More. The company is customer service focused and has a very warm family vibe. Kathy has a great eye and quickly helped me make decisions for several window and door openings. The custom shutters for the eyebrow curved window pictured here are so beautiful (the pelican loves them too). They hold out heat and sun or open at any desired angle to let in the natural light. The room darkening shades recommended for sliders are also beautiful and easy to open and close at desired levels of light and privacy. Rick did an amazing and quick job on perfect installation of these very different treatments, and his assistants Charlotte and Diane were also wonderful. Amazing how the right window coverings really transform a house into a home. It was surprising to me too that a full service small company like this one still exists in a cookie cutter world. Called companies to get estimates on curtains for my parents house new construction was very hesitant to commit, my wife saw a billboard on 41 heading towards Venice, I called the number and met with Kathy right away, she gave me an estimate right away, was very happy with it, ended up doing my own house as well. My wife and I recently bought our retirement home in North Port, FL and one of the first things we wanted to do was install beautiful window treatments. My wife searched the web where she discovered the Blinds Galore and More website. I contacted owner Kathy Brown and immediately her sense of excitement about what she does and how she values her customers. was apparent My wife also talked to Kathy shortly after that and we were convinced BG&M was for us. The selection of theytype of shutters we wanted was varied and Kathy added her expertise and knowledge in helping us make the right selection. The pricing proposal was very reasonable and fit into our house prep budget. Kathy visited our house along with her husband Rick and measured all the windows and submitted that info to the factory which is located in Venice, FL.Kathy provided us with an installation date and early that morning Rick arrived with the shutters and started the install. Rick is very skilled with all aspects of shutter installation and within a few hours all of our windows were hung with new shutters and what a difference they made. And Rick's commitment to quality and customer service were on display. Actually he is a bit of a perfectionist at his craft. Before he left we went to every window to be certain all shutters were working as they should be. After shopping for new shutters online and big box hardware stores, I was never happy with the price and overwhelmed by options and concerned what selections would be the best fit. After one year of debating this, I called Kathy and was immediately convinced that I needed her expertise. This is an expensive treatment and one mistake would cost me hundreds of dollars. Kathy quoted me a ballpark, which of course, was higher than the dot com shutters, but it wasn't unreasonable. Especially considering they would be expertly installed and any mistake would fall on her. She showed me samples of extremely well made composite shutters and knew exactly what frame would be best. BTW--I would have picked wrong making an online selection. The shutters came one week later which online was 6-12 weeks. They are beautiful and look twice the cost. They make the rooms gorgeous. The installation was expert and perfect in every detail. We are doing three more bedrooms just because I feel they add tremendous value to my home. Worth every penny, don't make the mistake I almost did by ordering online. Get it right the first time.

I had new windows installed and many of my older blinds were not sufficient, so I called a few window treatment stores and when I spoke with Kathy, I felt like my home was her home. Kathy and her crew were wonderful to work with. Her attention to detail was great! She gave good honest opinions based on what she has seen before and based on her eye for knowing what will look perfect! Some other places, it seemed, would tell you only what you wanted to hear and I feared that with those approaches the project would turn out fine instead of fabulous! Also Kathy's patience and wanting you to be happy before the ordered was made also topped others. Blinds Galore is absolutely the best business in this area to head to anytime you’re in the market for plantation shutters. I know they do a lot more than just shutters, but I can only speak from my specific product experience. We could have gone anywhere else and purchased the less expensive “Made in China” shutters, but opted for the quality solid louvers and frames made in the USA would provide us with. We love the added ambiance and style the new shutters have given our home and could not be more satisfied. Major home improvement purchases require significant product research, reliance on word-of-mouth testimonials, local references, and occasionally just plain good luck with finding a great business to work with. When I am searching for somewhere to do business, I expect three very important areas to be addressed:1. Product: I look for quality before quantity and always opt for the best within my price range. 2. Installation: There is an expectation of efficiency and skilled workmanship devoid of flaws or camouflaged mistakes. 3. Customer Service both pre-sale and post installation is critical and often very elusive in this day and age. This is perhaps the most important area of all since a business with great customer service will almost invariably install a quality product they can stand behind.I am never spent this much time giving a review, but when it comes to product, installation, and customer service, Blinds Galore is impeccable. If I could give Kathy and Rick Brown more than a five star rating, I would.

Kathy and Rick visited the house and quickly gave suggestions for window treatments that would work with the house. We told them what we wanted and figured out what worked best. They promptly ordered the treatments and set up the installation. We actually made some changes which they took care of immediately. Rick installed the shutters and veriglides quickly. These new patio shades are just want we ordered and expected. They keep out the morning and afternoon sun, but let you see out. Standing outside looking into our patio you have complete privacy. We were referred to Kathy and Rick Brown thru friends of ours. They loved their purchase from Blinds Galore and More and couldn’t say enough about their service. Being new to the area, we thought we would get a price from them. From the first contact Kathy, I knew we could do business with her. I have to say that moving to Florida and finding Blinds Galore was a true blessing. Kathy is very knowleable, friendly, and helpful. We absolutely LOVE the way our solar shades and shutters look. And her husband, Rick, does an awesome job with installation and just goes out of his way to be sure that we are happy. They have been extremely helpful in so many ways. Kathy and Rick are truly wonderful and genuine people! They both have helped us transition to the Venice area in countless ways. We consider them friends and deeply value all they have done for us! Our first introduction to Kathy and Rick began with the absolutely beautiful plantation shutters they installed in our new home. They made sure everything was ready the very first day we moved in. They took care of it all...measuring, ordering, and installation with great efficiency and professionalism! We were recommended to blinds galore and more by our Realtor. Since we were out of the state we asked Kathy if she could use the lock box and give us an estimate, which she did. Unsure about what product to use and cost we put it off until we returned to Florida. Since we were only in town for a week we called Kathy and asked if she could come over on such a short notice, which she did. She went over our options and at no time tried to pressure us. We agreed upon plantation shutters and were told Rick would install them before we returned. True to their word Rick installed them and sent us pictures. Kathy and Rick are very personable and professional and we would recommend them to anyone.

Kathy and Rick provided us with the highest quality service and products. My husband and I purchased a new house in Venice, and were unable to come down to meet personally to select the blinds and shutters. I conducted all selection and ordering by consulting with Kathy over the phone and via e-mail. The shutters that she helped me to select are perfect! Excellent service and quality from start to finish. Kathy and Rick provided great suggestions and options for replacement blinds in our Florida room. The blinds were ready prior to the due date and installed perfectly by Rick. There was a small problem with one of the blinds and Kathy called the Hunter Douglas rep who came out the same day and took care of it. The blinds were exactly what we wanted and look great. Would recommend Blinds Galore and More to all who want service and quality delivered by the wonderful team of Kathy and Rick.

My plantation shutters look amazing! From start to finish - professional and courteous service. The owner's knowledge of decor provided the perfect "finish" to each of my rooms. Dealing with Kathy and Rick Brown was a pleasure. Kathy led us through all the blind and shutter options and made suggestions. They removed all the old, hideous, window treatments and spackled and painted the holes left from the previous hardware. The new blinds and shutters are beautiful. We found a small problem with one of the brackets. I sent a message to Kathy and she called me immediately even though it was a holiday. She and Rick were at our home the next morning to fix the problem. I found them both very professional and great to deal with. I highly recommend this company.
